This SE Boise front yard needed a full reset. The lawn was gone, the beds were bare, and the space just felt unfinished. Here's what we were working with - a graded-down dirt surface, zero greenery, and a layout that wasn't doing the home any favors from the curb.
We started from scratch with proper sod prep. That means grading the soil correctly so water moves the right direction, getting a smooth, compacted base, and making sure the sod has something solid to root into. Skip those steps and you end up with uneven grass, soft spots, and headaches down the road. We don't cut corners on the prep work because that's what makes the finished lawn actually hold up.
Once the sod was down, we built out the rock beds and brought in the boulders. River rock, darker crushed gravel, and natural boulders placed throughout the beds - it gives the yard texture and visual depth without adding a ton of maintenance. The rock features frame the lawn cleanly and tie into the stone on the home's exterior. Everything flows together instead of looking pieced together.
A pathway runs along the side of the house with stepping stones bordered by pavers and gravel on both sides. It's functional, it looks sharp, and it connects the front to the back in a way that feels intentional. Details like that are what separate a yard that looks done from one that actually feels finished.
The end result is a front yard that looks sharp, holds up well in Boise's climate, and genuinely makes the home feel more welcoming. Clean lines, solid materials, and work built to last - that's what we're going for on every job we take on.
